Dearborn Homecoming 2010
3… 2… 1… Happy Homecoming Dearborn!!!
If you’re from Dearborn you know that Dearborn Homecoming is not just another regular old festival, and this year was no exception. Whether it’s the food, the rides, the music, or just the chance to reunite with family and friends, old and new. Homecoming has just the right amount of what you need to make you feel that home town pride that only Dearborn can offer.
After 31 years (32 if you’re really a local) Homecoming was as fun as ever! A double ferris wheel and “Power Tower” type ride called Big Ben added an extra thrill for the dare devils. A brand new bocce ball court was alive with action by the Italian (Tent) pavilion. The sounds of Billy Joel, Emerson Drive, The Bomb Squad, Fifty Amp Fuse, and many others filled the air. Car shows, crafters, corn, walking tacos, and beer; you didn’t have to look long for something you’d like.
On top of all that, although some may have not believed it possible, two nights of the largest and best fireworks displays to have ever been shown at Ford Field. With an excellently choreographed and timed performance, each ended with a grand finale that left you wondering if it would ever end, and then a WOW! It was a feeling unlike any other.
Until next year Dearborn. I can’t wait!!
